It may be possible, but since we have not tested that, we cannot confirm it one way or another.

Some libraries may require certain kernel versions in order to operate with certain features. I looked around a little bit and I couldn't' find a change log or a read me or anything that would indicate what the differences are. You could certainly give it a try, but I would exercise caution. We do have a services group that is willing to help with as little or as much of your project if would like, I can always have one of our sales people contact you if you need assistance.

I have good luck updating the of libusb in the past without issues. Give it a spin and let us know your outcome.

In the LTIB build environment you can update the libusb spec file dist/lfs-5.1/libusb/libusb.spec to point to the new revisions and add the new version to the LTIB-package-pool directory.
