I am in the process of migrating from the 1880AGIR-A to the 2880AGXR-A. From the product brief pdf, the only difference is the Clock Speed.

However in my Hardware design, only the 1880AGIR boots. The 2880AGXR-A does not. It self-reboots over and over when running android.

Is there something I need to change in the u-boot or kernel to make it boot fine?

On first thought, it seems like something is wrong with the SOM, because I wouldn't expect that to happen.

Could you clarify what you neat when it self-reboots...Is this happening during u-boot, Linux kernel or after the kernel loads but during the Android startup?

Based on that, I will ask around to see if anyone has seen that behaviour.

I am looking into the issue on our board side to make sure it's not our board. But from the debug outputs it tries to load the kernel and reboots there. It gets to the uboot fine.

Can you try running our stock Android on our stock baseboard? I would like to rule out any hardware issues.

Ok some more updates on this issue. It might be on our side. We have a few boards working with the new (faster) SOM. I'll do more test to identify the issue.
