How to Disable the Display in U-boot? 5027 4
Started by Derek Valleroy
Hello,
Our product doesn't use a display. I would like to disable it in U-boot so that the LCD I/O isn't driven at power-up. It appears that there isn't a $display variable that simply disables it. I was able to disable this in the Kernel using ./ltib -c, but I can't seem to find an ltib option to disable it for U-boot.
I think I might need to remove the /* Add graphics support */ definitions in the U-boot omap3logic.h source file, but i'm not sure if that is correct. A...

Bluetooth LE support in Torpedo SOM 1322 2
Started by Hogar Tait
How is support for BTLE About a year ago we were unable to get reliable connections to several different store bought BT headphones. It was not a required feature, so we moved on. Now there is interest in interfacing to BTLE sensors plus getting the BT headphones working. I know there have been many changes in the last year. I would appreciate any input.
Thanks,

additional NAND memory ICs 1437 6
Started by James Hillman
Hi There,
I am evaluating the Torpedo SOM Wireless kit for use in a product I am working on. I have found it pretty straight forward to get the wifi up and running.
In my product, there are some NAND Flash chips that contain data. I noticed the Torpedo 100pin connectors have the flash 8bit interface and multiple chip select lines.
So it should be possible to read these ICs in Linux
I was interested for some thoughts on,
1. can I still use the POP flash to boot from or should this be m...

prevent autosleeping when waked? android 1652 9
Started by mvly
So I sucessfully got the UART to work on the Development board and on android. Sending characters to the board when it's sleeping will wake up the board. But the device goes back to sleep right away. Is there a way to keep it on for a longer period of time
The reason I ask is I have an android app that monitors and process the UART port. It is able to capture it because I can echo the characters back fine. however because processing it takes more time, the device goes to sleep before i...

Brightness changes after returning to home screen android 1356 4
Started by mvly
I noticed that after changing the brightness to near 0 or 0 using a custom app on android and returning to the home screen, the LCD brightness returns to 20 Why is this happening I am not sure if other android devices does this, but it seems like the DM3730 android 2.3.4 build is doing it. Is there a way to prevent it from doing this Where would I look in the kernel or what-not to prevent this from happening.
I also noticed it slowly returns to 0.
By the way, I am writing to...

Custom Development and Wifi Performance 2036 9
Started by James Hillman
Hi Everyone,
The Torpedo Wireless SOM is a new thing for me.
Q1. Can someone clarify for me if the hardware and software (Linux BSP) is open source i.e. free to use
I am impressed with the design of the SOM but I want to integrated with an existing design which I feel could be significantly smaller as I would lose the connectors. I understand it is a PoP, so I would need to handle that.
Q2. WiFi Throughput
Has anyone tested the throughput of the WiFi (Module to PC) I w...

DM3730 SOM with 12-bit video support 1229 1
Started by Deleted User
What is the LogicPD partnumber for the DM3730 SOMs with the appropriate mods to fully support 12-bit video capture
We bought our dev kit from Digikey and it is not clear what the P/N for these extra modified SOMS is.
Do you sell these directly
Thanks.

Torpedo won't boot without trasceiver on UARTA 1308 3
Started by Bret Pollack
I have an adapter board with an LTC2804 transceiver connected to UARTA. The torpedo will boot when the board is connected, but will not when it is disconnected. It does not matter if an RS232 is connected to the adapter board or not. Does these signals require a pull-up/down Or are they expecting a signal of some kind What is this transceiver doing that the Torpedo likes
Thanks

Industrial grade DM3730 Wifi problems 1343 2
Started by Darrell Tam
Hi,
We are having problems with Wifi on some of our industrial grade DM3730 WIFI SOMs - wlan0 doesn't show up (i.e. ifconfig -a, no wlan0)
We are using exactly the same build (created with BSP2.4-4) on our units and some always work while others never do.
On the SOMs that work we see in dmesg:
wl12xx: loaded
wl12xx: initialized
plus lots of wlan stuff later on
But none of that on the ones that don't work
We have tried various combinati...

DVSDK - liboil fails to build 4167 50

I am trying to build the DVSDK.
I am using a native Ubuntu 14 64-bit system to build on, not the VM version. My target is on a DM3730 Torpedo Dev Kit.
The default config built with no errors.
Now I am trying to add the DVSDK:
Note1: The URL in the DM37x BSP UG is bad in Section 8.1, but I did evntually get it to download the CGT.
After following the instructions in section 8 of the DM37x BSP UG to Prep the build tools, the build fails on module 'liboil'. This is the first error output I s...

I2c pca9543 driver? 1927 3
Started by Deleted User
I noticed there is a pca_954x driver in the source code. How do I access this driver in your system I have a camera which has this chip (PCA9543) before the sensors I2C bus. This chip must have it's control reg initialized with a value of 0x01 before you can send I2C commands to the sensor.
Please direct me to instructions on how to use this.

MUSB Driver Update 1574 4
Started by Joshua Pagnotta
Do you happen to know if the MUSB driver for the USB OTG port on the SOM handles 'Host for RNDIS and Active Sync devices' kernel setting We have a USB composite device that communicates via RNDIS and we are able to establish an Ethernet connection to it using one of the USB ports tied to the ISP1763A USB ports on the dev board but not the SOM's USB OTG port. Weirdly, both USB ports detect the RNDIS connection and create an eth1 interface, but we cannot ping the device from the SOM's USB OTG por...

dnamasq error Address already in use when running tftpd-hpa 1411 2
Started by John Huang
Hi,
I am new to the Linux world, so my explanation/reasoning may seems somewhat incorrect, so bear with me.
Our project uses dnamasq to setup a tftp server on our host PC to eventually allow file transfers from our Zoom board.
Whenever I run our helper script called 'zoomconnect' which essentially runs the dnamasq command, I get the following errors:
Doing a little digging on the web, I found out that this is typically caused by some process that is holding onto the UDP port 69. So I...

controlling pin in LogicLoader 1208 3
Started by mvly
I am trying to read and write on a specific pin (GPIO_175) on the DM3730 in the LogicLoader mode.
I have read the LogicLoader user guide and concluded I need need to use the 'pin' command
I run the following command in the LogicLoader:
'pin redefine 5 0x48002030 175 4 disable nominal'
I can confirm this takes effect somewhat because when I run
info pin, I shows as pin 5 attached to GPIO 175
Moreover, when I run info pin 5, I get some more info about the pin attached to GPIO...

DirectFB Compilation Error During Build 1280 2

I'm investigating an issue that's occuring when building the defconfig (config/platform/omap_logic/defconfig) and it seems to be directly related to the package DirectFB. I've successfully built the same configuration by disabling the package but wonder how this is used in the configuration and what effects it would have in leaving it out of the build on the system.
Error output:

U-boot Default GPIO Settings 1272 1
Started by Joshua Pagnotta
Hi,
We were interested in changing the default state for our LEDs during U-boot so we can enable the LEDs we have wired to our board faster during the boot sequence. Do you know where in the u-boot source code the default GPIO states are controlled for the Torpedo SOM so we can toggle them.
Thanks.
