Started by Deleted User
Hi
I want to use tvp5146 for video capture with LogicPD Torpedo DM3730 Development Kit. I have a custom board for tvp5146 which connects to camera parralel port on development kit.
What should I do to get this worrking
I have already done these steps:
> Enabling tvp514x in kernel . By using lsmod, I can see that the module is loaded.
> Enabling video4linux. V4l2 is enabled but it says that there is no /dev/video0 device.

u-boot init image change crashes system during boot? 1353 7
Started by mvly
I just changed the default u-boot image and after rebuilding the image, I cannot get it to boot. Just FYI, the image is much larger than the logicPD one because it includes color and more images. Resolution is 480x272 image. Again this is for the android 2.3.4 build.
It stops after loading the kernel. Here is the serial read out:

TouchScreen not working with different resolution 2024 16
Started by mvly
I am using the Torpedo with CrystalFontz screen wihch uses the HX3869 driver chip. Luckily, the SPI stuff is already done for me and all I need is to handle the RGB lines in 16 bit color mode. The screen has a touchscreen that comes with it. It is your usual Resistive touch screen. When probing the touchscreen's resistance signals, they look like the ones generated by the LCD module for the Evaluation board. However I was not able to get it to work.
Moreover, I tried to split the signal...

/etc/shadow has the wrong permissions 1263 2
Started by JS232
In Torpedo Linux BPS v2.4-2 and v2.4-3, the deployed /etc/shadow is readable by other. This is not good security practice.
ls -l /etc/shadow
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1118 Jun 3 13:05 /etc/shadow
What component of the build system creates the /etc/shadow file

Linux root UID corrupted after passwd 1188 1
Started by JS232
Torpedo Linux BPS 2.4-2 and 2.4-3.
When changing the root password with passwd command, the root UID in /etc/passwd is set to something other than 0.
cat /etc/passwd
root:x:16589:0:root:/root:/bin/sh
After logging out and in again as root you end up with a broken system. My understand is that the kernel relies on the root UID to always equal 0.

HI,
when trying to set the LCD on boot to 24bit i get i disturbed image with mostly red colors.
on 16bit mode the image is fine but still red (the lcd is connected as 24bit).
can you please advice which parameters to set and their value on the u-boot source code in order to get
a good image (no help was found on TI..)
when im initializing the lcd from the kernel everything looks good with 24bit which probably means the problem is setting up

DM37x and platform/dm3730logic or platform/omap_logic 1231 1
Started by JS232
I am using a DM3730 Torpedo Wireless with Linux BSP 2.4-3. The DM37x Linux BSP User Guide rev August 2014 Section 2.4 instructs that config/platform/omap_logic/defconfig be used in the initial build. This is a bit confusing because the DM3730 is not an OMAP processor and I've noted that there is also a directory called config/platform/dm3730logic. Should it not rather be used Is the dm3730logic directory still actively maintained It looks like most of the files...

We are having some problems regarding what we think is a RAM corruption problem.

Started by mvly
I am trying get the module to wake, but not turn on LCD. Following the PWRON pin of the torpedo module, it is going to the Power control chip. If I wanted another pin to wake the device from sleep, which pins should I use

Using the modules in high temperatures 1468 4
Started by Hamed Nejad
We are using model SOMDM3730-31-1880AKIR in high temperature environment. My questions is: Is the module going to shut itself down if it gets too hot If yes, at what temperature. If not, what's the max safe temperature I see the junction temp is 105C but can we get to that temperature without corrupting the data

how to change bluetooth module in kernel 1505 10

I am using a different bluetooth module for the NON-wireless SOM DM3730 module. Looking at the pin outs, it looks like I can use use the same UARTs to communicate with my new module which is the PAN1327 ANT bluetooth module. I don't plan to use the ANT for now.
In the kernel after ./build.sh -K, I enabled HCI (H4 UART) to allow it to control the PAN1327.
Here is what I think I need to do next but I have no idea where to start
1) remove the wifi-bluetooth support from the dri...
