We are using model SOMDM3730-31-1880AKIR in high temperature environment. My questions is: Is the module going to shut itself down if it gets too hot? If yes, at what temperature. If not, what's the max safe temperature? I see the junction temp is 105C but can we get to that temperature without corrupting the data?

    Hamed,

The DM37x processor has an on-chip junction temperature sensor.  However, the silicon does not automatically shutdown when the die exceeds the recommended maximum temperature.

I would recommend reviewing the information provided in the
DM3730/AM3703 Torpedo SOM Thermal Management white paper for ideas how to create a Thermal Shutdown/Hot-Die warning mechanism and/or implement thermal dissipation solutions to protect your system from overheating.

Customers looking for assistance to protect against thermal problems are encouraged to contact us using this link.

    Regards,

    Brad
