I am trying to get Bluetooth LE up and running.

Running the 'hciconfig hci0 lestates' I initially get:

Read LE supported states on hci0 returned status 12

I found on a website to enter the following:

    hcitool cmd 0x3f 0x015B 0x1 0x0 & hcitool cmd 0x3f 0x01DD 0x1

After entering this, I get the following for the 'hciconfig hci0 lestates':

    Supported link layer states:
            YES Non-connectable Advertising State
            YES Scannable Advertising State
            YES Connectable Advertising State
            YES Directed Advertising State
            YES Passive Scanning State
            YES Active Scanning State
YES Initiating State/Connection State in Master Role
YES Connection State in the Slave Role
YES Non-connectable Advertising State and Passive Scanning State combination
YES Scannable Advertising State and Passive Scanning State combination
YES Connectable Advertising State and Passive Scanning State combination
YES Directed Advertising State and Passive Scanning State combination
YES Non-connectable Advertising State and Active Scanning State combination
YES Scannable Advertising State and Active Scanning State combination
YES Connectable Advertising State and Active Scanning State combination
YES Directed Advertising State and Active Scanning State combination
YES Non-connectable Advertising State and Initiating State combination
YES Scannable Advertising State and Initiating State combination
YES Non-connectable Advertising State and Master Role combination
YES Scannable Advertising State and Master Role combination
YES Non-connectable Advertising State and Slave Role combination
YES Scannable Advertising State and Slave Role combination
YES Passive Scanning State and Initiating State combination
YES Active Scanning State and Initiating State combination
YES Passive Scanning State and Master Role combination
YES Active Scanning State and Master Role combination
YES Passive Scanning State and Slave Role combination
YES Active Scanning State and Slave Role combination
YES Initiating State and Master Role combination/Master Role and Master Role combination

Then entering 'hcitool lescan' I only get 'LE Scan ...' and nothing else.

I know there are advertising BT LE devices present based on issuing the 'hcitool lescan' on my linux box that has a bluetooth dongle and other analysis equipment.

    Am I missing something?

What steps need to be done to get the LE up and running?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

Which version of the Torpedo + Wireless and which BSP version are you using? Not all versions support BLE.

We have an updated Bluetooth that hasn't been published yet with some BLE instructions. Based on your answers above, I can probably send you a draft of it.

    Hey Adam,

I have a 31-2780AKCR and have BSP 2.4.4. Does that combination have BLE support?

The SOM's labeled with -31 do not have that support in software, but the -32 version of the SOM does have BLE enabled.

I can investigate what something that would cost. We put the effort into the -32 version, but at the time the -31 was developed, the BLE support was not considered stable. Newer service packs were integrated into the -32 that improved the BLE performance.

Thanks Adam I appreciate you looking into it but we should be all set with that information at this time.
