    Q:

    Product
    DM3730 / AM3703 Torpedo + Wire
    Software OS
    Linux
    Part Number
    1021711
    Description
We have a requirement for reading data from USB flash drives, and delivering it over an ethernet as quickly as possible. The through-put on the DM3730+Wifi Torpedo in the dev kit is rather slow (only ~ 3MBytes/s) presumably because the ethernet and external USB controller share the external expansion bus.

The question is whether the other HS USB ports are available on the Torpedo, and if so are they supported by your drivers, or does the pin definition on the Torpedo prevent usage of the other HS USB Ports?

What about on your DM3730 SOM? And would the access to your off-chip ethernet be any more efficient than on the Torpedo?

    Thank you

A: The HS USB ports are not available. The other option is to use the USB OTG port.

    Thank you.

Is the hardware/software arrangement the same on your DM3730SOM (NOT the Torpedo), also precluding use of the HS USB ports?

On the DM3730 SOM-LV SOM you have access to HSUSB2 which connected to a USB3320 transceiver and a USB2514 hub.

HSUSB0 goes to the PMIC and provides a USB OTG port.
