I've just completed development using the TI DaVinci DM64 and am now moving to the OMAP35x. One of the keys to successes was getting an evaluation board for the DaVinci that contained a JTAG header so that I can build code for the C64+ as well as for the ARM. Currently the document I have reviewed makes it difficult for me to determine whether the LogicPD Evaluation board is sufficient for my needs. Can anyone provide information as to whether the LogicPD OMAP35X Zoom Development Kit contains a JTAG header for independent processor development?

You must have an account on our web site to view the documents that are posted with the 35x kit.

The Quick Start Guide has a picture of the kit including the 20 pin ARM JTAG header and the ETM connector on the SOM.

    Thanks

I assume its the 20 pin header at the upper left corner of the picture.

It's not exactly clear which document describes the use of the JTAG for DSP development but I will make the following assumptions based on DaVinci development. The OMAP35x User's Guide identifies the JTAG connector very specifically as the "JTAG header for the ARM core", I am assuming that this is an oversimplification of the interface and like the DaVinci the JTAG port of the ARM and DSP are tied together such that one is controlling both cores (Cortex and C64+) through the one JTAG port. Is it possible for someone to verify that this is indeed the case?

    ww-

That is the case. This baseboard is used for all of our SOM-LV modules. 35x is currently the only one with the DSP.

Once you have registered your kit, you will also have access to a JTAG setup files folder. In it the various devices that TI recommends and the connector adapters that must be used to connect to the kit are discussed.

Once you have registered your kit you can also access our Tech Support directly with the Ask A Question system.
    Thanks
