    Is there a command I can use to get a unique identifier for the torpedo board ?  When I run hostid it returns zero.  I have seen Linux suggestions to use the MAC address of eth0, but that is not enabled on the board we are using.  Is there some alternate way to do this or some way to make hostid work ?
