    Hi,

I was wondering if you have any experience trying to enable the WiFi pre 802.11s mesh networking capability (CPTCFG_MAC80211_MESH) in the WiFi backports?

In digging through the forums I saw the thread https://support.logicpd.com/TDGForum/tabid/124/aft/2107/Default.aspx which has some description on how to get to the code in the back ports and the config file, just wasn't sure before we go down this road of experimentation if it was known this would not work. My guess is the WiLink7 chip won't support this but was curious if you knew for certain?

Also, do you know if LogicPD is looking to integrate the WiLink8 chip into the Torpedo SOM anytime soon as it appears this has enhanced mesh networking capabilities and we are very interested in meshing our LogicPD products (http://www.ti.com/lsds/ti...atsnew-wwe#whatsnew?

    Thanks,

    Josh

    Josh,

Sorry about the delay. I was just notified today that our automated system hasn't been sending notifications when people post. I have already contact our IT group about it, so please accept my apologies for the delayed response.

I my knowledge, we haven't done much testing with the mesh networking. I know the backports have a signiifcantly newer driver, and out latest BSP (2.4-4) enables the Backport driver by default.

The Torpedo + Wireless SOM has no plans to change to WiLink 8 as of right now. We currently have a supplier providing WiLink 7 chips to us and have agreed provide them for the near future. I'll relay your comments to the product manager, but I doubt we'll be updating it anytime soon (if at all). Sorry.
