I am developing a product using the 35x Torpedo SOM running Linux android 3.0.8 kernel. It has been working fine until we changed revision of the SOM from AGIR-C to AGIR-E. Now we have random crashes which all seem to be related to memory problems. In the product change notifications i can see nothing that should cause this.

Are there any known issues involved in going from AGIR-D to AGIR-E?

I wouldn't expect to see that type of issue. Do you see this behavior on more than one SOM?

Yes we have quite a few that shows this behavior, all being AGIR-E versions. All of the older revisions work.

One more thing that is noticed is that the crashes happens on resume from suspended state. Never when running normally so there coiuld be some relation to the power management.

I am going to request to have one of these units sent to my office from our manufacturing plant. Are you using our Linux BSP? If so, can you tell me which version?

We are not using the BSP for the Torpedo 35x since it don't support power management at all. We are using a slightly modified version of your Linux kernel for the dm37x ( http://git.logicpd.com/pr...m37x-android/kernel/ ). That kernel has worked fine until we switched to the new revision of the SOM.

We are running a batch of those SOM's this week in our factory. I have requested that one be sent to me of that revision. I'll probably e-mail you and ask you for the patches you have that make the DM37 Android Kernel work on the OMAP35 when I receive it so I can try to reproduce your issue. Are you using the DM37's U-boot as well?

I will provide you with all you need. However I looked in our repository and it seems like there is no need to patch the kernel to get it running on the OMAP35x Torpedo. The modifications we made are almost exclusively drivers/configuration for peripherals.

We are not using the DM37 U-boot. We are running plain 2013-4 release with some minor changes to control attached HW early in the boot process (LEDS, vibrator).

And just to clarify. I'm not saying that there is a "bug" in the AGIR-E per se. The problem might be in the kernel or something we added to it. But as it worked fine on AGIR-C (haven't tested AGIR-D) at least something seems to have changed that causes this behavior.

I still haven't yet received the OMAP35, but I'll contact you when I do to see if I can reproduce your issue. I wouldn't expect there to be a need for any software updates from Rev C to D or E

I received the devices on Friday, but I was out of the office Monday and Tuesday. I am out of the office again Thursday and Friday, but I should be able to look at it next week. I'll be sending you a private e-mail so you can send me whatever patches you used to get the BSP to work on the OMAP35.
