    Hi,

I am using omapl138 evm and I want to obtain 3mbps on serial. But I am not able to obtain it.As I see in  TRS3386E RS232  Transceiver data sheet that it  support  upto 250kbps only. Is LogicPD aware of this? what alternative may be for me to get 3mbp working.?

    Thanks

    Jam

I have identified a component that will probably work, but we are investigating whether or not there are any other limitations before we make the recommendation. I don't want to encourage you to do something until we are fairly certain there won't be any other problems.

Here is a link to a part that should be able to handle 3Mb transfer rates. http://datasheets.maximin...13234E-MAX13237E.pdf

While the processor itself is capable of handling up to 12Mbaud, there are a variety of factors which may make the actual throughput lower. The actual data rate will be limited by system factors such as EDMA loading, EMIF/DDR loading, system frequency, etc. and there are some pull-up resistors that may come into play. All of these may result in the actual throughput being lower than the theoretical speed.
