I went through the entire document with the uImage provided and ran across the same issue that you had. The issue may be related to the post you mentioned, but there is no way to verify this since I get no UART output after the "Uncompressing Linux ....." message. When I replaced the uImage with a known working one, everything worked. I will be updating the image included with the document.

If anyone is working with this document, they can simply replace the uImage with one they know works and adjust the sizes of the erases, writes and bootcmd reads to work with their uImage.

After successful boot up from SPI Flash a few times, but I got error now and wouldn't boot up anymore. I follow same steps as working case.

U-Boot > run bootcmd

I also noted at begin as bad crc error message
