For some reason, when I press the 'q' key on my terminal emulator within 2 seconds of a reset, I can't get into BOLO. Does anybody have any ideas on why this is? (Not that I have a reason to get BOLO to run yet. Just curious.)

    EmbeddedMan,

The two-second timeout is a rough estimate. Unfortunately, at the point that BoLo begins to execute, the system's timers and interrupts are not fully initialized. For that reason, we are unable to achieve the micro-second timing accuracy of LoLo.

The most consistent way to enter bolo is:

    1) Ensure that the keyboard and the terminal emulator program being used have a fairly fast auto-repeat rate set.

    2) Connect the serial port from your computer to the Zoom Starter Kit.

    3) Hold down the 'q' key.

    4) Power on the kit while holding down the 'q' key.

Please give it a few tries and if you are still having difficulties, contact us again.

    Thanks,
    Eric

Ah Ha! Yup, that works just great. Holding down the 'q' key and letting it auto-repeat while restarting the Zoom was the trick. Thanks!
