Is there any more documentation on the Ti CODEC on the board?
I received alpha code from Freescale (which looks like it might have come from Logic PD) and I am just trying to do a simple volume control on a beep.
It appears that writing the Left/Right Headphone Volume Channel Control address with 0x000 does not mute the sound. I do hear the beep out even if I never set the vol control due to the default setting. There is a lack of initalization and operational information from the data sheet.
Further more, I am not entirely certain that the QSPI chip select (2) for the CODEC is active because I am probing the test point T48 (uP_SPI_nCODEC) on the left side of the engine and it is always high. I have probed some other pins and some do not jive with the schematics. Whats the story with this?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, I have all that (which isn't much).
What about the test point for the chip select?
It is not coming out on that test point. Could you check the artwork and tell me where I can probe it?

Hello,
I'm also trying to get any sound from the board.
But I do hear nothing.
Should I may be use active speakers?
Yaroslav.

The audio jacks on the kit are line in/line out singal levels. You will probably have to use a speaker with an amplifier to test audio output.

Any code that's available is going to be from Freescale, I would check in with them.
Thanks,

Hi,
It seems like the FireEngine contains TLV320AIC23 and not TLV320DAC23, which is a DAC and not a CODEC.
Cheers,
Sven

True, the AIC supports audio in and out. The DAC supports audio out only.
