Hi, I'm new to the Coldfire series and debugging via BDM. I'm currently having trouble debugging a Linux v2.6.10 kernel using BDM.
I can't seem to properly step to the next statement in the kernel... everytime I try, I get the following error:
BDM error: Target Bus Error
Admittedly, my environment has some quirks to it that may be the cause. Here's how everything is setup:
(1) build the kernel and bootloader (from the ltib package) under Linux under VMware
(2) start the board up, connect to it via the bdm using m68k-bdm-elf-gdb under Cygwin from the Zoom CD that came with the eval board
(3) allow the processor to continue
(4) use dBUG/TFTP to transfer colilo over to ram on the dev board
(5) use colilo/tftp to transfer the kernel over to ram on the dev board
(6) set the hardware breakpoint via gdb
(7) start up the kernel
Once the breakpoint is hit, I find myself back at the prompt but I can't seem to step from statement to statement.
Any help would be greatly appreciated... even better, if someone can tell me how to get the bdm to work under vmware, that would be cool too. save me some effort.
Ken.
