I recently heard that there may be a USB device related wiring problem with the M54xxEVBs. I have a rev B M5485EVB (Fire Engine) board. Is this rev affected?
I am developing a USB device driver and I am starting to suspect that I am having a physical layer problem.
I know my cable is good because it works with another USB device.
I initialize the USB device controller as indicated by the MCF5485 manual. However the USB controller never seems to come out of reset (USBISR[RSTSTOP] never gets set) and I never get any USB related interrupts.
Any ideas?

Freescale MCF5475/85 ETX boards marked with
1000049 +B
1000050 +B
have updated Freescale silicon with the USB module fixed, however, power to the USB interface is not connected properly on the PCB.
USBVDD should be connected to 3.3V instead of 1.5V.
USB_OSCVDD should be connected to 3.3V instead of 1.5V.
A Product Change Notification will be posted on the LogicPD website that includes a work around which can be performed on the module to correct the problem. Future revisions of the product will have the PCB corrected to eliminate the issue.

I may have been mistaken in my identification of board rev.
One sticker on my board has "80000294 REV B" which I thought was the board rev. However this does not match the format that you referred to. I have another sticker that has "1087-1000281+A 0506".
Does this modify your rework notes at all?

Actually, I made a mistake. 80000294 rev B and 80000287 rev B also have the USB power problem.
The 80000294 and 80000287 boards shipped as stand alone units. The 1000049 and 1000050 shipped as kits with baseboards.
All have the same issue.

I could not find any 'Product Change Notification' on LogicPD website.
Is it available somewhere ?
If not, what exactly should I do to correct USB power supply problem ?
(I have 80000294 rev B board).

Hello Piotr,
I have emailed the PCN you've requested to you. This document is currently approved for release but is still going through the release process so it is not on the website yet. Please let me know if I can help you further.
Regards,
