The USB OTG controller (ISP1763A) on the development kit is Obsolete and no longer available. Do you have any recomendations for a replacment? Do you have any extra ICs which I could purchase from you?

    Tim,

I got your VM. Sorry I have not responded yet. I'm waiting to hear back from our inventory specialists and purchasing groups to see what we have on inventory, on order, etc. to see if/what options are available.

I'll call you back when I have more info.

    Tim,
Unfortunately, I don't have good news for you. We've done a last-time buy to service the rest of the life of our development kit. I know at least one customer has done the same for a product they designed. Unfortunately, we don't have any excess inventory to sell for the ISP1763A nor do we have a replacement part identified.

Having stated that, we have a design and engineering services group that can quote both finding a replacement part as well as integrating the driver into the kernel. If you'd like to have a sales person reach out to you to discuss options, let me know, and I'll have someone contact you.

    Thank you,

    adam

Hello Adam, The ISP1763A appears to be connected to the SOM via a 16bit Parallel bus (the ISP1763A supports 8 bit and 16 bit buses). However it is difficult to find parts that use a 16pin parallel bus. does the Torpedo + Wireless SOM support smaller bus architectures? 8 bit parallel instead of 16 bit? Does the SOM support ULPI?

    Thanks

Just to ask it another way, what type of expansion bus's does the Torpedo + Wireless SOM support? I can find a number of different port types on the ISP1763A datasheet (SRAM, NOR, NAND, and General Multiplex), but am having difficulty finding corresponding information in the SOM datasheet. Thanks

    Tim,

The ISL1763A is connected to the GPMC bus on the SOM. GPMC is the General Purpose Memory Controller. The GPMC controller has a parallel interface which can be configured as 8 or 16-bit according to the DM3730 technical reference manual.

    http://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/sprugn4

The GPMC bus can be used for communicating with NAND, NOR, and a variety of other devices using a parallel type interface. The Ethernet controller on the Torpedo development kit is another device on the same bus. The devices all share a same bus, but each device has different chip select pins.

If you've registered a SOM and/or a kit, you should have access to the downloadable schematics for both the Torpedo SOM and the development kit for the Torpedo SOM.

I confirmed with the hardware designer that the ULPI interface wasn't exposed on the Torpedo SOM which is why we used the GPMC interface to the ISP1763.

FYI, the download link for the dev kit and SOM's is: http://support.logicpd.co...ortalid=0&EntryId=52

You'll need to be logged into our system for the link to work.
