<!-- s:o -->:o<!-- s:o --> We are trying to build Internet Explorer 6.0 platform. After it has been built, only the website - "www.tsanet.org" can be accessed. Sometimes the website - "www.msn.com" can also be accessed, but we must not select the feature of "display images in pages" in "internet option" settings. Others, we have tried to browse tens of websites, none of them can be accessed. What should I do?

    Thanks,

    John

    Hi John,

Thanks for you post. First off, could you tell me what platform configuration you are building? By platform configuration I mean the selection you choose in Step-3 of the "New Platform Wizard." It should be something like; Gateway, Industrial Controller, Internet Appliance, Custom Configuration, etc.

Secondly, can you tell me if you are building a retail or debug build of the platform. This could make a difference. Currently, the Ethernet driver multiplexes application network traffic (i.e. Internet Explorer, Web Server, etc.) with Kernel Independent Transport Layer (KITL) traffic. The KITL traffic is used by the kernel debugger, debug messages, and the release file system. If you are building a debug version of the platform, there will be quite a bit of KITL traffic. This will come at the expense of your application traffic. Therefore, you might experience timeouts in Internet Explorer amongst other problems.

If you are currently building a debug version, a quick fix might be to try a retail version.

Also, are you using the xxx_beta_002 components?

    Thanks,

Note: The features which are not presented are not selected.

Maybe, I am not correct to choose platform features. Mikee, would you please review it for us?

We are building Release version of the platform. And we also tried to burn the Image into flash memory, but the situation is worse, there is no internet connection.

Of course, we are using the xxx_beta_002 components. And we are keeping updating Windows CE.

By the way, why doesn't Logicpd provide Networking Device Driver?

    Best regards,

    John

    John,

We are going to try and re-create the problem here at Logic by building the same configuration. We will get back to you as soon as we can with our results.

In regards to your question about a stand alone Ethernet driver, it is really a matter of priority. Being that our Starter Development Kits only have one Ethernet port, a decision was made to implement a network mini-port driver that handled both application and KITL traffic first. We will get a stand alone network mini-port driver out later.

We do in fact have a stand alone driver for the SmSC 91C111 chip. However, it is for one of our older platforms and was developed with the benefit of two Ethernet ports (one for the stand alone driver to use for application traffic, the other for KITL traffic so I could debug the stand alone driver). The port to the A400 Card Engine shouldn't be too difficult and is expected to be done soon.

Thanks again for your post and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

    Regards,

Hi, Mikee: Thank you so much!
This discussion is also for the first question. The situation is: we have been trying tens of website. If the files(including of .txt/.igf/.bmp/others) of the website are less than 1.5Kbyte, it's OK to access, otherwise, just waiting. But interesting thing is: only one website - "www.tsanet.org" can be fully accessed. We don't know why it is.
