For application testing purposes, I would like to download a new application to the Boot ROM of my LogicPD ZOOM MCF5485 Evaluation Board and I would like to know how to back out the changes and restore the factory flash contents before I continue my application testing. I believe that there are two items on the factory Boot ROM, the dBUG utility and the LoLo utility. I have found the LoLo S-Record program that I can download from the URL:
    http://support.logicpd.co...h/downloads/MCF5485/
However, I don't know where to acquire the dBUG utility. A LoLo and dBUG combined into a single LoLo S-Record file?

Also, if anyone can point out the location of any supporting documentation that I can use to help in this process please let me know.

    Kind regard,
    plengel

    plengel,

Both dBUG only and dBUG/LoLo files are available from the downloads section of the Logic 5485 page. You have to have registered a kit to have access to the files.

    From the release notes:

Use the LoLo file with destination address 0xff800000 if you want to overwrite dBUG and boot directly to the losh> prompt. Use the file with destination address 0xff840000 if you wish to leave dBUG in place and continue booting to the dBUG prompt.

Thank you for the response. I found the LoLo S-Record and update images from the following download site as you indicated:

    http://support.logicpd.co...h/downloads/MCF5485/

I found the "dBUG" utility from the Freescale support site by searching for "dBUG". It seems that the dBUG bootloader is saved as a "*.run" file that holds an S-Record file. I ran an S-Record to BIN utility and see that the resulting BIN file matches the dBUG program that I have in the boot flash.

    Kind regards,
