In my past applications at boot-up the loader(not LoLo or BoLo) looks for a character at the serial port. If the character is seen the loader executes
commands to transfered a program file from a PC and burn to flash. If no character is seen the loader then jumps to a progarm location in flash. Since BoLo is gone, is there a way to reproduce the above steps using LoLo scripts?

    Hi Carl,

Can you tell me what loader you're referring? I'm assuming that you're meaning dBUG which is Freescale's bootloader.

    Thanks,

    Hi Aaron,
The loader is part of a package supplied by a company called netburner.

    Hi Arron,
On page 6 of the LogicLoader user's manual, it shows that the loader looks for a escape character 'q' at power-up, and if found would launch BoLo. I know the BoLo is gone, but is there a feature like this in LoLo that would detect a character at power up then lauch LoLo.

    Hi Carl,

Sorry for the delayed response. I've been trying to think of a way that the scenario you're describing could be implemented. The 'q' key will still break you out of automatically running a script from the serial eeprom but you are correct that BoLo no longer exists.

LogicLoader 2.0 has scripting capabilities that may enable you do what you're wanting. I will look into this a bit further. In the meantime I would recommend reading through the documentation that is available for LogicLoader here:

    Hi Carl,

This is because you need to register your kit first. I double checked your account and can see that you have not done this yet. You can do so at the following link:

    Thanks,

LogicLoader works in the opposite manner. You can put a bootscript into the serial eeprom or the config block. If you press the 'q' key it will not execute the script(s). If you do nothing, LoLo will run the bootscript which could be a series of LoLo commands that download an image and burn it to flash, and then jump or exec that new image.
