I tried to load lolo by typing "go ffe40000" (as indicated in the quick start guide of the M5484EVB kit). But I get a message back saying it is an illegal instruction:

    dBUG> go ffe40000
    Illegal instruction at 0xFFE40000
    PC: FFE40000 SR: 2000 [t.Sm.000...xnzvc]

What is the reason for this?

    Ameer,

Please reference the LogicLoader Procedures App Note and let me know if this takes care of your issues:

I followed the instructions in the lolo app notes. I loaded the "1003200_dbug_lolo.srec". Then I typed "burn" and confirmed. It said the burn was ok, but I noticed that only around 500 KB were written, while the srec file is 1,407 KB, so I thought something went wrong. After that when I tried resetting, I kept getting a garbage prompt. I tried using the cf flasher, but it stalled halfway through. And now there is no prompt at all.

It looks like the whole flash needs to be reprogrammed, I don't have lolo, so would cf flasher work? If it does, how do I set it up to reprogram the whole flash. If it doesn't, what is the solution?

    Thanks.

Never mind the last post. I just tried programming 1003200_lolo_0xff800000.srec using CF flasher and it worked!!
