Well I just received my 5484LITEKit today and already have lots of questions. After reading this group I have even more!

I am trying to get lolo to start up. It seems from this group that the entry point has moved. When I do a g 0xff840000 it goes out in the weeds. Tried the other entry suggested in http://www.logicpd.com/do...76/1000199_Rev_B.pdf but no luck. Tried to download the code and reflash it using freescale tools but the website will not let me have it. (contact webmaster for auth?/) What am I doing wrong?

The real thing I am trying to test is running a PCMCIA bridge chip in the PCI slot. I have a TI1420 (cardbus to PCI bridge chip) but when I plug it into the slot the board will hang at "scanning PCI bridge". A couple times I got a kernel panic and it looked like the IRQ was asserted and pulled it down. Any suggestions?

I am going to head out to my local computer store and get some wireless cards to try in the PCI slot. I would like to get that going then go back to the cardbus bridge. Any suggestions on what has been tested in the slot? I see the kernel has been built by default with PCI and Prisim support.

For software I am running the metrowerks 2.4.26 BSP (mcf547x_8x-non-pcs_bsp-050321.tar.gz) I can not figure out what rev board I have. The barcode on the board is broken in 2 stickers and one says rev 1 (nothing like the picture you have on the web site)? The S/N I used to gain access to this board so you should have it? From the looks of it I think I am s/n #3 and rev 1 board. Not sure if that is good or bad?

Any help would be great.... thanks

There was a permissions issue with the downloadable, this has been resolved, please try the link below to download LogicLoader for the M5484 EVB:

I assume you're trying this with Linux?

If you remove the FireEngine SOM from the connectors and look on the underside there will be a sticker. Please post whatever is on that sticker.

Ok that was a really BIG waste of time......

    I downloaded http://www.logicpd.com/do...oads/353/1001735.zip

And finally figured out which ones work and what did not...

Once I got the correct one's loaded and running none of them seem to support ethernet! So I went back to debug so that I can load my kernel.

Did learn how to brick it, bring it back, brick it, bring it back..... So it was not totaly wasted time.

So let save some time and go back to the original question:

Does anyone know PCI cards have been tested with the 5485 boards?

What software/version/bsp was used to verify the PCI interface? (Or has it been?)

    The board I have is: 4404M0048, 1000165 Rev 1

Like I posted last time I am running Metrowerks Linux 2.4.26 BSP (mcf547x_8x-non-pcs_bsp-050321.tar.gz)

    Thanks

During the bringing up of the FireEngine SOM tests are run with the two onboard PCI devices; the graphics chip and the USB Host chip. External PCI card versions of these devices are also tested to verify each PCI Socket.

My guess is that the Metrowerks Linux BSP does not support the particular PCI card that you're trying to use, causing the upredictable behavior. You can contact either Freescale support or Metrowerks in regards to using the Metrowerks tools:

    https://www.freescale.com/webapp/ruhp.login.framework

    http://metrowerks.com/MW/Support/default.htm

The Metrowerks BSP is free source provided as is for reference and because of this there are going to be known difficulties in working with it. With this in mind Logic is currently working on releasing a Logic reference BSP of Linux for Logic's Coldfire Development Kits. This BSP will be supported by Logic and actively developed on.

If you require a custom software solution or an expedited release of Linux source please contact productsales@logicpd.com to discuss setting up a support contract to get this work done.

Have you been able to make the TI1420 work with Metrowerks Linux BSP? We are trying to do a similar thing, but using the TI1520 and M5484Lite.
