From the Fire Engine hardware specification PN: 70000229:

Boot flash: "The processor boots from this memory area by default on reset"

Is there a way of booting from the 32MB code flash instead so that a stand-alone program does not have to over-write dBug?

    Crossware,

There isn't anyway to force the processor to boot from "user flash."

My suggestion is to either use LogicLoader's boot-time scripting to launch your application, or ask Freescale to provide you with a version of dBug that is linked to run from someplace other than the boot-vector.

To do the first option, replace dBug with a combination BoLo/LoLo package. You can find this software on our downloads site.
