I've recently started playing with an M5475EVB and have lolo running.
If I do "info arch", I get the string "CPLD not programmed."

Should it be? I'd like to be able to access the compact flash on
    the board.

    keithm,

CPLD code is available for purchase through product sales. Please contact sales@logicpd.com for more information and a quote.

    Thank you,

Note, I'm not interested in the source code, only the binary code (i.e.
I samply want a functional CPLD). Must the binary also be purchased?

The CPLD code is available free of charge for customers designing the Fire Engine into their final product or for purchase if implementing in a custom board solution. For more information on purchasing or licensing the CPLD VHDL code, please contact Logic sales at product.sales@logicpd.com and request a license agreement.

Hmm, I'm not quite sure I know where I fit in

Ultimately, we will be designing a custom board with an
MCF5474 and FPGA connected (probably) via PCI. The
system will be running Linux 2.6 with no disk drive (using
a ramdisk filesystem). This system is a debugging module
which interfaces between a host debugging system (via
either Ethernet or USB 2.0) and a target (via a custom
    cable controlled by the FPGA).

I'm hoping to do development using the M5475EVB running
Linux. The FPGA is currently on a PCI card which I'd like
to plug into one of the PCI slots.

So the CPLD is useful during development on the EVB, but
ultimately we don't be using the CPLD. Does this mean that
I need to purchase the CPLD VHDL so I can talk to my PCI card
    during development?

On a slightly different subject, does Ethernet work (e.g. /tftp) without
    the CPLD?

    Keithm,

I can help you out with part of your question...

You do not need the CPLD to use the PCI slot.

You do need the CPLD to use the compact flash slot.
