    Hi,

What is the current status of the Linux support for iMX31Lite kit? I see that in the latest official kernel tree (2.6.29) the support for the liteKit was added, but as far as I can see, the code is incomplete and doesn't boot the platform.

I saw older posts on this subject about Linux 2.6.19, Freescale ADS BSP and LTIB. Is this still the only way to go to boot Linux on this board?

    Thanks,

    tdc

We are currently running 2.6.24 based on the PDK from freescale and a patch. Not sure if that helps.

Did anyone try latest 2.6.30 Kernel, yet?

It includes a lot of i.MX related patches.

I would try it - but I am not sure how to upgrade the BSPs to a newer Kernel which partially (?) includes all the patches that are in the BSPs... any useful hints on that topic?

    hai,

i tried 2.6.30 kernel, but it is not booting after uncompressing.

loading raw binary to 0x81000000 (ram) len 0019b864:
    ................................................................................
    ................................................................................
    .................................................done
    file loaded
    Uncompressing Linux.............................................................
    .............................................. done, booting the kernel.

    how to debug this?
    thanks in advance for comments.

FYI, there are some patches for the LiteKit queued in the mxc-master git tree at pengutronix:

    git://git.pengutronix.de/git/imx/linux-2.6.git mxc-master

These will be merged to 2.6.33 in the next development cycle which is expected to start in around a week.

With those patches applied, Ethernet, the serial port, USB, MMC, SPI and LEDs work well. There is also support for MC13783 (Atlas) now, but I haven't tried its actual functions. Audio support is also being worked on, and will as well be merged at some point.

You can help check the board support by compiling the tree mentioned above, and provide feedback on the official linux-arm-kernel mailinglist.

    Thanks,
    Daniel
