    Hi guys,

Newbi here . After correctly installing the cygwin , GNUtools logicPDv3.1 and the sample application PRE2.5. I get an Windows error saying:

    arm-elf-gcc.exe Entry Point Not Found

The procedure entry point _impure_ptr could not be located in the dynamic link library cygwin1.dll

Now I uninstalled and removed the registry keys a couple of times thinking this might resolve my issue. But still the problem persists.
These are the tools that LOGICPD has offered to download from their website. I noticed that cygwin1.dll is quiet an older library from 2004. I don't know if that is causing the problem. But I have read somewhere on this forum that a newer *.dll file might resolve the issue. So I did copy and overwrite the older *.dll with a newer cygwin1.dll . Still no change . And it won't compile of course.

So for the third time I deleted the keys in the registry according to the cygwin UG. And removed the cygwin folder . Reinstalled Cygwin, GNUTools, Sample App Pre2.5. just to get the same error again.

Anybody else had this issue ? What am I doing wrong ?

    Any help greatly appreciated .

You will need to go to Cygwin's website and click the "Install or Update
Now" link on the front page. A direct link to this is:
    http://cygwin.com/setup.exe
Once you have downloaded and run "setup.exe" you will want to make sure
that you select the "Install from Internet" option. From there just
click through all the default settings and Cygwin will be updated.

    Also,
    *****
you can try the suggestion from this FAQ:

    http://www.logicpd.com/pr...turn-when-i-try-buil

After this re-install the GNU Tools Toolchain from Logic's website and
re-install the Sample Application and everything should build fine.

    Hi,
We had to spent a quite few days before we registered to this forum to find out the cygwin provided by logicpd has this issue. I too was getting "impure entry point not found in cygwin1.dll" I fail to understand why logicpd do not keep a corrected/working version of cygwin.

    Regards
