    Hi all,

    We downloaded the imx31_ads_20070511-rel4-ltib.iso image currently available on the freescale website (it was the the only one available). We are trying to build the same as a non root user as said in the install document which came with this package. We used ./ltib command to install ltib.
    But we are getting some build errors.

    Processing platform: Host support packages
    ============================================
    (see logfile: /home/imx31/imx31_ads_20070511-rel4-ltib/ltib-imx31ads-20070511/host_config.log)
    using /home/imx31/imx31_ads_20070511-rel4-ltib/ltib-imx31ads-20070511/config/platform/host/ltib.preconfig

    Processing: fake-provides
    ===========================
    rpmbuild --dbpath /opt/freescale/ltib/var/lib/rpm --define '_unpackaged_files_terminate_build 0' --define '_target_cpu i686' --define '__strip strip' --define '_topdir /opt/freescale/ltib/usr/src/rpm' --define '_prefix /opt/freescale/ltib/usr' --define '_tmppath /home/imx31/imx31_ads_20070511-rel4-ltib/ltib-imx31ads-20070511/tmp' --define '_mandir /opt/freescale/ltib/usr/share/man' --define '_sysconfdir /opt/freescale/ltib/etc' --define '_localstatedir /var' -bb --clean --rmsource /home/imx31/imx31_ads_20070511-rel4-ltib/ltib-imx31ads-20070511/dist/lfs-5.1/fake-provides/fake-provides.spec
    error: Unable to open temp file.

    RPM build errors:
    Unable to open temp file.
    Build time for fake-provides: 0 seconds

    Failed building fake-provides
    Died at ./ltib line 1396.

    Started: Fri Jul 6 18:51:27 2007
    Ended: Fri Jul 6 18:51:27 2007
    Elapsed: 0 seconds

    These packages failed to build:
    fake-provides
    Build Failed

    This is the error which is taken from the build log file.

    The procedure we followed was:
    Downloaded the iso image on windows,
    extracted it using winrar
    did ftp to linux machine
    from root gave sudo permissions and run the ./ltib command as non root user.

    Please tell us if the procedure we have followed is correct and also where are we going wrong.

    Thanks in advance

    I am not sure the procedure can work.
    In the User's Guide, it lists clearly steps to install ltib :
    1. download iso file
    2. mount iso in linux
    3. run "install" script
    4. if install successfully, run "ltib" at install-path

    maybe you can read the user guide and try again.
