    I'm using Wattson successfully, but would like to compare me readings to expeted voltage/current/power readings in full-load and no-load states. I haven't found default values in any of the literature. Can anybody point me to the proper document? Or perhaps provide numbers from their own experience? I'm working with the DM3730 Torpedo.

    Erik,

    We don't necessarily have full-load and no-load states, but we have some rough numbers between no-load and sleep.

    On average, with no activity, the Torpedo SOM consumes between 287 and 308mW depending on the model.

    In sleep mode (echo mem > /sys/power/state) it drops bewteen 10-14 mW.

    We have some numbers with the WiFi running, but those are fairly arbitrary because the overhead of the WiFi system can cause higher than usual power usage depending on congestion, and there are too many factors. However, if you are interested in WiFi numbers, I can give you a rough estimate.

    Thanks Adam. Do you have any numbers on the expected voltages Wattson should detect? Will the voltages vary depending on what's running, or would they be constant?

    They will vary based on what's running. If you're running Linux, the frequency and voltage of the main processor will change based on demand, so if there is no load, the voltage and frequency drop. When there is a load, the frequency and voltage go up. You'll probably see Watson jumping around a bit as this happens quite quickly. Our stock BSP's have some benchmark tools, so if you run them, you should see the power consumption jump as these benchmark tools can be demanding.
