    Hi,

We have a SOM installed in our device which doesn't appear to be outputing anything over its console UART on power on. The last working time this SOM was booted a nand erase.chip was performed in u-boot and after that inserting a boot SD card (made with the mkLogicFATCard.sh) with MLO and u-boot files on it won't boot at all. Nothing prints on the UART console. I tried putting the files from 1028255 DM37x SOM Recover NAND flash procedure in product downloads on a boot SD card to see if that may restore it to default factory state but didn't seem to do anything. Is there something else we can do to try to recover this SOM and get something on the console output?

    Thank you.

If MLO is not in the proper location on the SD card, it's quite possible the internal boot ROM of the DM37 won't see the file.

Usually mkLogicFATCard.sh works, however there are occasional times where the formating of the SD card gets messed up. We have a tool for Windows that can format the card located: https://support.logicpd.com/DesktopModules/Bring2mind/DMX/Download.aspx?portalid=0&EntryId=2760&__sw_csrfToken=14f9338b

I would re-format the card with that tool and copy MLO first. If anything is copied to the SD card before MLO, it won't boot due to the expectation on where the boot ROM expects to locate it.

Once MLO is copied, try manually copying the rest of the U-boot files. If you copy MLO again, there large possibility that the new MLO will get moved to a different location based on how the FAT file system works and it will also fail.

Unfortunately, this is a hardware limitation in the DM37 processor itself and not unique to Logic PD.

Give that a try, and let me know if that works. If it still fails, you might want to try a different SD card.

    Adam,

Are you able to provide that tool another way. I can't get that link to work, it brings up an "WAF threat: Possible Cross-Site Request Forgery prevented." error.

    Joshua,

I sent you an e-mail with the file attached via our Accelion system. It uses a web interface to allow you to download it. Hopefully it will work better. If you don't see it, please check your spam filter as sometimes e-mails from this system can get caught in them.

Let me know if that works for you. I'll get a receipt when they are downloaded.
