    Hi,

I am trying to establish Ad-hoc (GN) PAN interface configured in the Torpedo + wireless board using the application note AN605. I could set up NAP based blue-tooth PAN interface by following the application note. The application note suggests to use the script test-nap to set up NAP based bnep(bluetooth) interface. But I could not find how to set up GN based PAN network  in the application note.

I would like to know if the boards supports GN based PAN network ? if yes could you please point me to the appropriate application note or appropriate steps/scripts to enable the pan interface in GN mode?

    Thanks,
    Hannibal

I am going to have to spend some time looking into this. I don't have any documentation on that specific feature. I don't see any obvious reason why it wouldn't work.

I found some instructions on BlueZ's site, but I haven't tried them explictly with the version of BlueZ in our kit.

    http://bluez.sourceforge.net/contrib/HOWTO-PAN

If you want to try those, give that a shot. I'll try to get to this in the next day or two

    Hi Adam,
I have tried following the steps from the link you sent last week and I could not establish any connection between the bluetooth interface. I believe there is something more than the steps mentioned in the document for the Torpedo platform.

    Hannibal,

I spent a good part of the day trying to get the GN feature working, but I wasn't successful.

I need to talk with some colleagues to see if anyone else has tried it.

    Hannibal,

From talking with some of my colleagues, it took a while to develop the scripts to get the Bluetooth app note and software that we have. If we need to develop more examples, it will take some additional resources, and it would require a service contract. If you'd like, I can have your account manager contact you to discuss options.

    Hi Adam,
Thanks for the reply.before getting into the service contract discussion I would like to know if the bnep driver supports GN mode right now or the support has to be created?

Sorry about the delay. As far as I can tell, nobody here has tried to use it, but from reading about BlueZ 4, it appears to be available. Unfortunately, I am not sure that I can definitely answer your question. I'm going to talk to the head of our engineering group and see I can get some direction on this matter.

I talked with two of our software developers who beleieve this should be possible. They are working on a quote for you. I'll send you a private e-mail with more information when they have completed their quote.
