I format a 64MB Flash card (Toshiba) on my laptop, then copy some files to it. I put it in the Zoom and restart, then do a "mount fatfs /cf_card" command. All is well - 'ls' produces both a /cf_card and /dev directories. However, when I cd to /cf_card, there's nothing there. No files show up. Does anyone know if an answer to this problem?

    EmbeddedMan,

The file system driver expects to see files which are named in traditional DOS format. That is to say, all capital letters. No more than eight characters followed by a period, followed by a three letter extension. Also note that no spaces are allowed in the file name.

For example, "FOO.TXT" is a valid file name. The name "foo.txt" is not.

Currently, this is a bug in our documentation as we neglected to specify this.

The software team is also in the process of updating the file system code to handle extended filenames. Please look for a new release of LoLo coming soon.

Please try naming your files in this manner and let us know if it works.

    Thanks,

The CompactFlash circuitry and software only support Type-1 3.3 Volt memory cards in "memory mode."

We recommend any of the standard SanDisk products as these are used by our development engineers.

    Thanks,

Thanks for the quick response erich. I am using 3.3V CF, I think. (Is there any easy way to tell?) The compact flash self test does pass, in that the name of the compact flash card is returned correctly. All of the files on my CF card are named in 8.3 format, although some are not all in capital letter. I will attempt again with files with all capital letters and see if any of them show up. Thanks again-

OK, all is well now. I put the CF card back in my Windows macine, changed the names of some files to all capital letters, and then put the CF card back in the Zoom kit. Rebooted Zoom, and mounted the CF card. All is well - I can see anything that's all caps.
