Has anyone attached a camera (e.g. via USB or direct to the memory bus) to the LH7A404 development board?

We are running linux and are looking for a camera and linux driver that we can use for demonstration purposes. We have very minimal requirements for the camera.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

I have not seen anything in the Linux world that has been tested on an ARM processor through USB host considering this combo is pretty rare. I would suggest looking for something in the PDA realm such as the Sharp Zaurus, but these devices are Intel based and have not had USB host ports in their current designs. If you look at the Sharp website for the Zaurus and it’s accessories:,1068,29,00.html

They have a CF based camera that has a driver that may be able to get working on our kit. They may be able to find a Linux driver for an off the shelf USB camera that is ported for X86 and make that work in the ARM realm also. I am not a Linux expert, but the driver should just sit on top of the USB host driver and the target processor core shouldn’t matter. However, I have never done this or looked so I have no idea how clean this would be.

    Hope this helps a bit,
