Is there a way to download (eg., using Activesync) and run an actual application on the pre-built WinCE 5.0 Sample Development Image? I have been able to load NK.BIN from CF card and get a WinCE startup window. Should Activesync run using the Client USB port? (Does not on my host). I am looking for a way using EVC++ but will consider Platform Builder.

    Thanks,

    Gary,

Yes, activesync will run on the Client USB Port. The USB Host port is for input devices like a keyboard, mouse or even a USB disk drive. Make sure that you have the USB Workstation driver installed on your system as well. Here's a link to it:

Thanks for the link! Activesync now works and I can browse the SDK. I still have a couple of questions

    - neither the touchscreen nor USB mouse works with the Sample Development Image. Are these items built into the image and do I need to specify a kernel parameter, or are not available?

-how do I configure eVC++ / Platform Manager to see SDK with this image? I have built an app using the Standard 5.0 SDK (and Pocket PC SDK). How do I target the SDK?

At the time that you had this image the touch driver and USB Hosting driver were still under development. They have since been released and added to the Sample Dev Image for the A404. Please go to the following link to download this updated image.

Please refer to the "Zoom Starter Development Kit WindowsCE Evaluation Guide" for this information. It has been written to provide instruction for using the WinCE 5.0 Sample Development Image for the LH7A404.
