I would recommend reading through the Evaluation Guide for Windows CE which is linked below. This is a binary OS image that will allow you to evaluate Logic's Windows CE Binary BSP for your application development. In fact many customers have used these images for the first few months of app development before they have hardware available.

The file that you're refering to is the Windows CE Software Development Kit for the LH7A400 card engine. This SDK contains a subset of common Operating System (OS) APIs that allows an application written to the Standard SDK to run on different Windows CE .NET platforms and is for use in Embedded Visual C++ as referenced in the guide above.

Customers that are approved by sales after signing the Binary BSP license agreement and purchasing a bronze support contract ($795) will be given access to Logic's Windows CE Binary BSP.

I'm not sure why this is happening but there are two possibilities. It might be because you don't have Platform builder installed on your system. It also might be because you haven't yet installed service pack 4 for eVC++. Can you post the excact text of the error dialog? Also I would recommend searching the microsoft newsgroups for this error as there might be insight as to what is causing it. I personally have never experienced it.

    Best Regards,

    Hello,

After looking at your screenshot I would suggest following the external link that is being referenced to find out what components that you are missing on your install that won't let you install the SDK. I would get in touch with Microsoft for more specific support if this does not solve the issues that you are seeing.

Are you sure that you have service pack 4 installed for eVC++?

    Thanks,

    Hi Aaron

I have interface my TFT screen with the kit.I have got this Hitachi TX31D30VC1CAA 12.1" SVGA TFT LCD Module. I have made connection with the kit.

I want to display Colour test Pattern on my TFT screen. Reading through the Application guide 161:Interfacing LCDs to Logics SDK Board, i guess i need to Determine LCD Controller register setting.

Can you please tell me how to calculate the LCD Controller register.

Also after i have calculated the LCD Controller register what i need to do to test it out.

    Regards

You will need to match up the LCD register and timing values from the spec or datasheet with the LCD registers on the chip. Something that you can try is to do a 'video-open' for the 12.1 Sharp display kit and then do a draw-test.

    losh> video-open 2 16
    video-open display: width: 800 height: 600 bpp: 16 disp: 2
    losh> draw-test
    losh>

From here you can read the register values and tweak them to make them work with your custom display. The timing should be fairly similar for your display.

Logic can help you further with this under support contract if you need more assistance.

    Thanks,

    Hi Aaron

going back to my old question regarding installing WIN CE 50 LPD ARMV4I SDK _LH7A400.msi on my machine. I downloaded SP4 for EVC++ 4.0 and installed it. but again it gives the same error message.

I dont know whethr i am doing something stupid or what. Let me explain it to you.

    1) first I intalled WinCE5.0 in C:\WinCE50
    2) second I installed EVC++4 in C:\EVC40
    3) Then i installed SP4 for EVC40.
    4) Then I try to install WINCE 50 LPD ARMV4I SDK_LH7A400.msi but it comes up with error message.

I have downloaded and installed all windows updates including updates for .net. but again same message.

    Any thought on this.

Also i have got trail version of WinCE 4.2 with me but unfortunately lost my serial number. so cant install it. Is there any way i can get the serial number.

    Regards

Have you tried following the recommended URL that the error dialogue gives you? If not I would suggest trying that. Beyond that I'm not sure what might be going on, your best bet would to look around Microsoft Newsgroups or email Microsoft Support Directly.

    Hi Aaron

Is it possible to get sample source code for logic loader. I want to try something when it boots up. I want run test pattern on display when we boot up the kit.

    regards

LogicLoader source code is available for purchase if you're interested. You can contact productsales@logicpd.com for a quote. Beyond that LogicLoader source is not freely available.
