Any plans for android beyond 4.0.4 for the DM3730 SOM Torpedo? 1432 0
Started by mvly
Is there any plans to update android beyond 4.0.4
I notice from TI's site that they have NOT updated their AM37x android build for a while now from Android 4.0.3. I have also searched online on people who have tried porting to other version of android.
Is there instructions on how to start the port if there is no plans for update There are performance issues with ICS and I would like to move to 4.1.2, 4.2.2 or 4.3 if possible.
Thanks

Android 4.0.4 crashes and reboots using with app 1456 2
Started by mvly
The Logic zoom eval board is resetting when I am using the OS stock with the OsmAnd application when loading the mapping image.
There is a brief message around not enough RAM to load the image and then soon after it reboots.
I think it might have to do with the 16MB vs 32MB virtual memory allocation per app restriction on the OS. Since I am using the 512MB version of the DM3730, is there a way I can rebuild the OS with the 32MB VM for each app
Thanks!

Q: May I know how to connect the JTAG for the DM3730 Torpedo SOM I am using QNX Momentics IDE. Which JTAG probe should I get
A: The DM3730 Torpedo kit comes with a ETM adapter board that offers a cJTAG interface. For more information on how to connect the ETM adapter board, see chapter 9, in the DevKit user Guide &91;1&93;.

Not detecting a device form USB OTH port 1535 0

Dear all,
In our cursbom board, managed by a DM3730 module, we attach an expansion module for data capturing. The module is connected to the board throw the USB OTG interface. The power of the expansion module is managed by the DM3730 module using a GPIO.
Usually, when the main application of the device (running on DM37x module) is running, we can power off the expansion module using a text application. The main application should reset the expansion board powers up the expansion module ag...

Android high power consumption during sleep. 1647 3
Started by mvly
I am wondering why android uses much more power during sleep compared to Linux on the DM3730. I am using Wattson to measure the current and during sleep, the Linux can hit 1-2mA current draw for the SOM. But for Android 2.3.4, it is around 15-16mA.
My design requires the absolute lowest power consumption. Is there a way to drop it comparable to the Linux boot

4.0.4 Android image causes screen to be distorted on Zoom Evaluation board 1580 2
Started by mvly
I downloaded the Android 4.0.4 Image and build a bootable SD card using the instruction. But the screen's color is distorted and offset using the Zoom Evaluation board.
Is there a source code to build the android system from scratch This seems like a driver or kernel problem.
Any help or guidance would help.

Q: What is the recommended keepout area under the SOM module. Its mentioned in the design checklist (1020652D_AN498_DM3730-AM3703_Torpedo_Wireless_SOM_Design_Checklist.pdf) section 3.5 item 2, but I cant find the actual spec.
A: The keep out area is specified in the spec &91;1&93;. There is also information on the keep out area in the Mechanical Hold Down Scenarios white paper&91;2&93;.

line in recording on torpedo 1614 0
Started by Matthew Tatar
Hello,
I am experimenting with the torpedo board and audio recording. I have a working microphone (tested on other systems) connected to the line in jack on the board. I have tried using also to enable capture on every capture interface it shows and I can't get recording to work. How do I enable recording with the line in jack. That is, what configuration do I need to do in alsa mixer or outside to make this work.
Thank you.

Missing libusb-dev to build X-Loader 2152 4
Started by Deleted User
Dear all,
To build the X-Loader, the package 'libusb-dev' should be installed in the host computer, as it is pointed in https://groups.google.com/forum/!msg/x-loader/aEXYx0qyZSo/SeqZXP5KWCEJ. However, the document titled 'DM37x Linux BSP User Guide' Rev. E, in section 2.3.12 'Install packages' doesn't indicate that the package 'libusb-dev' should be installed.
I don't download the LogicPD virtual machine, so I don't know if the package is already installed in the virtual machine or not.

boot from sd?? 2189 7

I'm sort of new to this embedded linux environment. I understand how to set up linux via fdisk and mkfs, using grub or syslinux. How does one set up an SD Card to boot the kernel from the SD Card and mounting multiple partitions A step-by-step would be nice. I'm interested in using the SD Card like a normal hard disk and uboot/logicloader as though I were using grub/syslinux (if I am even equating the properly). The labs seem to generate a ramdisk for the SD Card, and I am not interested in tha...

Recording live audio through a microphone using the Torpedo internal codec 1675 1
Started by Deleted User
Dear LogicPD support team,
we are recording live audio through a microphone using the Torpedo internal codec. The microphone is connected to the MIC_IN (J31.24) pin ( see image: https://db.tt/uztzNrhQ ).
The recording has been made with the following command:
alsa_arecord -d 10 -f S16_LE -r 44100 filename.wav
There is a constant background electrical noise in the recordings.
We have recorded two samples:
1) with microphone plugged: https://db.tt/GIbP...

Creating a Bootable SD in Windows 1569 1
Started by Deleted User
Can you email me instructions (or a web link) for creating a bootable microSD for a DM3730 Torpedo wireless SOM (dev kit layout) on Windows (I found the HP tool for formatting an SD on Windows, but no obvious instructions). (the linux tools and procedures work very well, but I have a supplier that prefers to stick with Windows).
