thermal analysis of OMAP35x SOM-LV Board

    I Need equivalent directional thermal conductivity (Kxx, Kyy, Kzz) for the board for use in system level thermal analysis. Does anyone have access to this information?

    Tom, I checked with the mechanical engineer here at Logic PD that did some thermal modeling of our SOMs. He indicated that he wasn't able to determine a good directional thermal conductivity value for the PCB model.

    Are you aware of the fact that we post the gerber files for the PCB in pdf format? From that file you can see the copper densities distributed throughout the PCB layout. That may be of some help for you in estimating the thermal conductivity. You can find this PCB layout info in any of the Hardware Design File links on the DM3730/AM3703 Downloads page (e.g. https://support.logicpd.com/DesktopModules/Bring2mind/DMX/Download.aspx?portalid=0&EntryId=703 )
