Abhishek,
To charge the battery, I would recommend using the OMAP35x with the latest version of Logic Loader 2.4.16. Versions prior to Logic Loader 2.4.9 prevented full charging. More information on this can be seen in Devkit Errata E0005 and Devkit PCN 431.
While the DM37x might boot on the OMAP35x Launcher baseboard there are certain limitation you will have. One of which is the USB Host controller. The new Launcher baseboard provides an update USB Host controller, Wattson Power Measurement capability via a USB port, a 26-pin camera interface, and on-board battery charging.
With the OMAP35x Linux version 2.1 BSP the image was loaded with Logic Loader using the "exec" command. When using the DM37x Linux 2.4-3 BSP, x-loader and u-boot was used in place of Logic Loader. Therefore, you would no longer want to use Logic Loader to load your Linux image. More information on loading your DM37x Linux BSP can be found in the
DM37x Linux User Guide.
If you can, I would recommend updating to the DM37x Launcher 3 Baseboard. The availability of the DM37x Torpedo & Torpedo + Wireless development kits can be seen in this link below.
