Load bin <stdin> 1833 8
Started by jdionne
What protocol does load command use to receive the file from the serial port.
Tera Term Pro 'send file' function just seems to send the file in binary format.
But when I try the same thing in my application the transfer always fails.
Is the load command expecting some sort of packet like X-Modem
I read the file into a binary array and loop through the array.
Is there some sort of handshaking going on
using 'load bin'
Thanks
Jeff

Run an application without using bootloader? 1632 7
Started by Dag
Hi everybody,
I modifed the led_flasher sample application to do something more than just flashing a led and this works fine, both when I compile it for RAM and for flash memory. For some test purposes I want to run this application without first starting the bootloader. I therefor changed the CONFIG_APP_OFFSET variable in the makefile from 0x00100000 to 0x00000000. I load and burn the elf-file (I use Multi-ICE to restore the bootloader later), but the application does not start. Can anybody...

nIOWR and nIORD not strobing low 1720 3
Started by marclai
Hi,
I am trying to write a compact flash low level driver (memory mapped mode). When trying to write to the following compact flash registers (via 16 bit writes) I have found that the nIOWR signal does not strobe low as I expect. Also nIORD does not strobe low on reads. According to the logicpd IO controller specification the compact flash is mapped at memory address range 0x60200000 to 0x603FFFFF. Looking at the schematic REG is tied to uP_MA12 so the compact flash registers start at 0x602...

boot_app.exe not being run 1583 2
Started by mbellot
I've managed to build a (simple) .NET CF v1 application, but now I'm having trouble getting it to auto run at boot.
I put the file in the root directory of the compact flash card with the filename "boot_app.exe" (no quotes), according to the instructions in AN296 and also in the latest "Zoom™ Development Kit Windows® CE Evaluation Guide".
Once CE boots I can open "My Device" -> "Storage Card" and then double click on boot_app (the extension is hidden)...

WinCE images for download 1615 2
Started by mbellot
Greetings.
I've recently been tasked with trying to pull together a project using a Logic LH7A404 development board and LCD, but I've run into a snag.
The pre-built image available for download (LH7A404_DEV_IMAGE_For_All_Other_PNs.zip) includes the .NET Compact Framework V1 runtime components, but I am using VS2005 which only supports .NET CF V2 when building WinCE 5.0 projects.
"Installing" the CF V2 runtime works until the board is reset, at which point it reverts to CF V1. I'm as...

Starting with the development environment for LH7A404 and Wind River workbench with VxWorks 6.4 I have a question about the BSP:

What are the LH7A404 SOM power requirements Even in the most recent specification document, the current draw is listed as TBD. It has been that way since the first document. Change disp_num runtime. 1599 6
Started by Dag
Hi,
I have an application where I can use different displays. To select display I use the parameter disp_num when booting Windows. For the displays I use, the value of disp_num is either 0, 1 or 2. When Windows boots it is not always known what type of display I have connected. I would like to be able to first try disp_num = 0 for some seconds, and if this does not work, try disp_num = 1 for some seconds, and then disp_num = 2. When the displays looks ok the user touches the screen to accep...

ARM-elf or Greenhill-elf downloads 1837 1

The following question was submitted by hansr to the LH79520-10 site. It applies to the LH7A404-10 as well. Refer to the LH79520-10 post for original.
question: How do I get elf files generated by ARM or Greenhill tools to download to the starter development kit
Answer:
The ELF loader needs to know the address in memory where it should
place the incoming binary file. The Greenhill and ARM tools place this
information at the very end of an ELF file. When downloading over a
non-random ac...
