When loading my NK.BIN image from compact flash I get the error:

error: load: address space does not fit in ram (0xbf4648 bytes at 0x80100000)

Now originally I thought the image was too big but it is smaller than the show image I downloaded off the site and got running. When I look at the memory docs it seems to show the address it is trying to load to is in protected space. Why would it be trying to load there? Is it because I am using the MAINSTONEII BSPs and not the LogicPD specific ones?

    Hello,

The MainstoneII BSP is likely to have issues running on the PXA270-10 SDK. I have never worked with Intel's BSP so I can't say what these might be but it's my assumption that it probably won't work.

    Thanks,

    ddsoft,
The Mainstone BSP has many similarities to the functionally supported peripherals, however, the bus interfaces between common components like SDRAM, NOR Flash, Ethernet controller, Touch controller, Audio CODEC, and onboard Compact Flash interface are all slightly different on the LogicPD product. Mainstone's BSP supports a set of peripherals on the Mainstone kit, however, the software functionality is limited. In order to make the Mainstone BSP work on the LogicPD kit, the low level SDRAM, and NOR flash drivers would have to be modified. Most onchip peripherals should work as long as a driver is available, all external drivers like Audio, Touch, Ethernet will not work without modification.

The LogicPD winCE5.0 offering was written from scratch specifically for our PXA270 kit by our core winCE5.0 development team. All SDK peripherals drivers are complete and can be found on our website for easy integration into a custom BSP of your liking.

Yes but apparently your 'free' BSPs have an acquisition cost that wasn't clearly spelled out. I hope you guys update the site so some other unsuspecting fool is not caught blind like I was. Thanks again for all your help. You guys on these boards are great.

    ddsoft,
I apologize for the confusion on the status of BSP access. We find that most software and hardware evaluation scenarios can be accomplished without even using the BSP. Have you fully explored using the evaluation OS images, along with supported application development tools, to evaluate the different items you are interested in?

If BSP access is required, due to the high level of complexity and features the BSPs enable, we request that customers wishing to download the free BSPs install some support hours (bronze level minimum) to cover the Q/A and support time our support staff provide on the BSP usage and functionality.

We will be clarifying this in the Windows CE Binary BSP License Agreement document. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

More information on support packages can be found at: http://www.logicpd.com/su.../supportpackages.php .

    Regards,

I am using the Logic PD kit as a starting point for creating my own BSP. Not really interested in purchasing yours. But, can you tell me what specifically about the SDRAM and flash drivers needs to be adjusted?

If you would like assistance with this development from Logic I would recommend putting in a Bronze support contract to get this work done. This will allow the allocation of the time resources of an engineer here at Logic to assist you with this development.

    Thanks,
