    I followed the instructions in the BSP User's guide to build a minimal Windows CE 5.0 based OS.

    Loading the image via ethernet and booting worked just fine. When I tried plug in a USB cable, there is no response and no device appears under the device manager.

    On this same system, If I use one of the precompiled images from the web site, I see USB activity and the device appears under the device manager but we still can't sync.

    Hello,

    Please check the release notes of the USBF driver:

    4) Dependancies
    ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
    --) Note: While this driver is a BUS only driver, we include USB Client
    registry entries to provide a place to define what type of USB Function
    Client the device will be used as. The following are the currently
    supported mutually exclusive options:

    --) To enable USB ActiveSync functionality the following must be enabled:
    * Catalog Item(s):
    ".\Shell and User Interface\User Interface\Network User Interface"
    ".\Applications - End User\ActiveSync"
    ".\Device Drivers\USB Function\USB Function Clients\Serial"

    --) To enable USB Mass Storage functionality the following must be enabled:
    * Feature requirements:
    An accessible storage device (i.e. Compact Flash).
    A valid File System for the storage device.
    * Catalog Item(s):
    ".\Device Drivers\USB Function\USB Function Clients\Mass Storage"

    Please post back here if you have further questions.

    Thanks,

    We were missing Device Drivers\USB Function\USB Function Clients\Serial.

    Test image now connects with active sync.

    Thankyou for the help.
