LoLo and Updating the CPLD

    Q: I'm wondering about the 'update' command in LoLo.

    1. What is it capable of updating?

    2. Can the xc2c64a FPGA on the board be updated with it?

    We have a .upd file, and when I point the update command at it it looks like is running an Altera FPGA programming utility.

    3. What is in the .upd file, and how is one created?

    3. I will have to look into whether we have any publicly available instructions on creating the CPLD.

    Thanks for the response. The xc2c64a is a Xilinx part, so when LoLo's 'update' ran the Altera FPGA/CPLD "jam" programming utility it surprised me. Xilinx parts typically use SVF, XVSF, or STAPL files -- is the .upd file one of those, or a variant? Is the reason that the CPLD is programmable so that LogicPD can send out new releases for it, or is it something that LogicPD expects that a user might want to program? Is the board typically shipped with the CPLD programmed? Does the CPLD do anything more than interface to the compact flash?
