Linux 2.6.19 loadable modules? 1457 1
Started by rbunce
Has anyone tried using loadable modules yet I've created modules for older versions of Linux (on other projects) but I understand that there is now a new method which generates *.ko files using kbuild.
I have set up the kernel to support modules, but so far I can't work out how to build the modules themselves. I'm happy with the "C" code, it's just the build process I'm stuck on.
If any of you has an example Make file or any other tips it would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,

How can i get the LCD-3.5-QVGA-10 to run on Linux 2.6.22 1578 2
Started by ecastelo
I have tried many things, and seen many different results but i cannot get the LCD to display anything useful.
In LOLO i do:
video-open 6 16
draw-test
I see the boxes like the manual says. I then tried to get DirectFB to build, but it complains that the Kernel Headers must be included. When i select DirectFB, i cannot select Include Kernel Header, so i am assuming it is set automatically, but it does not build. Qtopia complains about Qtopia-tslib. I am not sure if i even need these package...

Using lolo to write binary to nor flash 1613 4
Started by Deleted User
I'm trying to use lolo load and burn commands to burn a raw binary image to the NOR flash. However, no matter what flash adress I use in the load command the subsequent burn command warns me that the one or more of the first sectors will be erased (supposedly containing lolo config).
Anyone knows the trick to write something to the NOR flash on a i.MX31 Litekit

arcotg_udc.ko hangs while loading.. 1575 2
Started by Deleted User
I have a SOM board with MCIMX31CVKN5C (Core 2)(commercial industrial grade) and i am running linux 2.6.19.2 on that. With this SOM board I have a problem while loading arcotg_udc.ko module.
This module hangs and after debugging further I found that it hangs at cpu_to_le32() function.
I was able to load the same arcotg_udc.ko module successfully on SOM board with MCIMX31VKNB (core 1.2).
I haven't gone in depth to understand the difference in Core1.2 and core 2. It looks like the difference ...

iMX31 without MC13783 can't uncompress Linux kernel 1550 7
Started by serkam
Dear Sirs
We finished a board with iMX31LC ( BGA 0.8mm ), based 100 in the Litekit, but, without MC13783 ( companion chip ). In its place we designed a voltage sequencer using a Pic18F2321, LDOs and MOSFETs to switch the several voltages in proper sequence, as recommended by Freescale.
For a while we are using the LogicLoader to debug the hardware and apparently, all things are going well.
The board is stable, the LoLo runs stable, and I can run several routines for hardware tests without ra...

LK043T1DG0 LCD connection 1625 2
Started by ramin@micromedinc.com
Talking to Logic PD on supported LCDs, we were recommended the Sharp 4.3” LCD part number LK043T1DG0 is supported with the iMX31-10 SOM. This LCD has 24 bit RGB lines. 8 bits for R,G and B. The SOM supplies only 6 bits for R,G and B. Where would I find the 6 extra interface pins on the SOM to support this LCD

CE Driver issues and LOLO docs 1532 6

To Logic
I need the LOLO 2.4.0 user manual and/or update.
Question, if I upgrade form LOLO 2.3.5 to 2.4.0 do I need to format the nand, if I am using version 1.4.5 of the yaffs driver and the module is new out of box
Issue1:
I have upgraded to version 2.4.0 and the new drivers(3/18 updates) that are on logic website and all hell has broke out. Windows crashes if I load it from the yaffs partition. If I load it from bootme it works most of the time, still unstable. I have tried this with 4 m...

Windows Embedded CE 6.0 BSP? 1507 1

Is Logic working on a Windows Embedded 6.0 BSP for this board If so, what's an estimated date for completion
Otherwise, are there any ADS/LITEKIT experts that could port Freescale's 6.0 BSP source to the LITEKIT similar to how people have done w/ the Linux source
Thanks.

yet another linux thread 1649 5
Started by tombrus
Hi,
I am tying to get linux to run on my LITEKIT. I read a lot of posts here and tried to mimic the steps (I followed the steps of randyc in thread http&58;//tdg&46;logicpd&46;com/viewtopic&46;phpf=29&t=1074, thanks randyc!). Alas no success yet. Maybe some more experienced people can give some tips.
- I downloaded BSP imx31_ads_20071008-rel5b-ltib.iso from freescale; it contains linux-2.6.22
- on the forum everybody is talking about linux-2.6.19.2, is 2.6.22 still uncharted territory...

I am looking for the fb.modes Linux DirectFb configuration file for the ZOOM Display kit. If anybody has any ideas where I can find it, the help would be much appreciated. I am looking at the LogicPd and Freescale sites for it but have not had any luck so far. I'm also looking via Google for all reference information.
Thanks BeattyConsulting

linux-2.6.19.2 PCMCIA on the Litekit 1547 0
Started by Deleted User
I've been working off-n-on to get PCMCIA working on the litekit using 2.6.19.2, as well udev.
I can see card insertions/deleteions, but don't have any created devices, nor do I ssee any uevents (that would trigger udev to wake up).
I have SD card support working that uses udev to auto matically create /dev/mmcblock* devices on card insert, and want to do the same for PCMCIA memory CF cards.
Has anyone gotten PCMCIA to work, complete with device entries, etc in 2.6.19
Thanks in advance!

how to build the latest GNU toolchain with VFP support 1581 1
Started by tombrus
Hi, I needed the GNU toolchain with VFP support because the supplied toolchain does not have floating point support compiled into it. I started with the remarks and the script in thread http://tdg.logicpd.com/viewtopic.phpt=1271. I refined and corrected the script a little. I thought I donate it back to the group. Below you will find a shell script that builds the complete toolchain from scratch. Just put the script in an empty directory on its own an run it. It will start downloa...

I took my first hurdle in building my own gnu toolchain with fp enabled. That gave me compiled code with fp instructions. yeah! This, however, does not run because I get aQuote:Unhandled Exception:

boot from nand with iMX31 1862 8
Started by amiko
Hi
We plan to first have a working Linux BSP on our lite SOM-LV imx31 and then to modify it into a boot from nand system by changing some of the bootstrap resistors.
My question is: Does anyone know about any promlem with boot from nand with iMX31 in general and also with the SOM-LV
Maybe even someone here had an experience with Linux booting from nand on the imx31 processor
Thanks in advance for any kind of help or remark

i.mx31 toolchain for building our patched linux kernel 1704 2

Hi, apologies for the ignorance.
I am still in the initial steps of building the linux kernel (based on 2.6.19.2 from kernel.org) using a vmware-emulated redhat linux.
I have patched the source using linux-2.6.19.2-mx3lite.patch ( downloaded from http://caiaq.org/download/imx31/linux-2 ... e.patch.gz ) without any errors.
Then I copied linux-2.6.19.2-imx31lite.config ( downloaded from http://caiaq.org/download/imx31/linux-2 ... ite.config ) to the kernel source directory as ".config&quo...
